Jaxon’s Journey Bulletin 20

Hi All,

Update on Jaxon.

We have contacted Jaxon’s medical team regarding the trial. Unfortunately they have hit some road blocks and have not been able to get the trial approved in the timeframe they advised us. The team will try to get the trial approved at another hospital and be in touch early 2026.

Sadly Jaxon’s seizures are still impacting him daily. Almost every night he is having nocturnal seizures, waking tired & working hard to get through each day. He does though, he still gets through his weekly therapy at NAPA and is thriving at school.

Jaxon got student of the week for standing all by himself for a short amount of time. A massive achievement!!!

In September we were able to provide Jaxon an experience we knew he would love!!!!

A helicopter ride…

Jaxon loved it, he even said “one more?!”

This is what it’s all about, little experiences for him that make things a little lighter for us as parents.

In October Jaxon turned 8!!!!

Happiest of birthdays to our Jaxon, you are the light of our lives!! Your outlook on life is the best!

Our hope for 2026 is to raise enough funds to purchase a Kia Carnival and have it modified so it can safely support Jaxon’s wheelchair. For us, this isn’t just about a car its about giving Jaxon the comfort, dignity, and independence he deserves.

Right now, lifting Jaxon into his car seat has become incredibly difficult. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle would completely change that. It would mean Jaxon can travel safely in his own chair, without discomfort, and it would take away the constant worry and strain that comes with every trip.

The journey to get this support is long. It begins with appointments with an Occupational Therapist, followed by demonstration sessions with the vehicle modification company. The OT then prepares a detailed report for the NDIS, outlining exactly what Jaxon needs. From there, we face a 12–18 month wait for NDIS approval. Once it’s approved, the modifications themselves take around three months to complete.

Thank you for being part of Jaxon’s journey. Your support brings us closer to giving him the ease, safety, and independence he deserves and we are so deeply grateful.

TRUSTEES MEETING

Trustees meeting held on Thursday 13 November 2025 was conducted at HQ. The main discussion took place around the goals for the fund in 2026. Young Jaxon is growing up. It has now become an issue for Lauren and Matt to get Jaxon in and out of the family vehicles. In the future this exercise will become even more difficult. It was discussed at the meeting about the options available to Jaxon in this area. It was decided for Foss Matt and Lauren to submit some ideas including costs involved in purchasing a suitable vehicle which would address this problem. At the next meeting a submission will be presented to the Trust on this issue. Lauren earlier has some comments to make on the preliminary investigations that have taken place in this Bulletin.

Merchandise- To all APM Group people can we make a concerted effort to try and sell all current merchandise available on sites.  T Shirts are now available on all APM Group projects.

Matt has organised some JJ Stickers for hard hats/cars and the like which will be available soon.
