Hi All,
We celebrated Jaxon's 5th Birthday in October. Due to still recovering from hospital and seizures we had a small celebration at home and were able to take him to Gumbuya World for a few hours which he loved.
We saw Jaxon’s private Neurologist after his admission to hospital as unfortunately we were still seeing nocturnal seizures even after increasing all his current medication to the highest dose. We have added another medication to the mix while it having some horrible side effects it seems to have calmed the storm and he has been able to have some relief at night.
Jaxon has been doing well in Physiotherapy. It just shows how much uncontrolled seizures delay his development. We saw him gain some strength back and he took 3 steps on his own without support. It took us all by surprise and brought tears to my eyes. We have also noticed an increase in words, he is trying to repeat single words and is much more vocal which we love hearing.
We attended the APM Family Christmas Day at Luna Park, Jaxon & Ryder had the best time.
Thank you APM for organising such a great day.
A big thank you to Belinda who went to a lot of trouble making the day so special and for making sure no one missed out on presents.
On the day we had a raffle. Tee Pee Tours donated for two people to the value of $300 a winery tour in and around the Varra Valley. The winner Alicia Dole congratulations.
We had an Auction. Which included a vouvher for a night of accommodation at Crown Casino Interpol Penthouse Hotel, car space, breakfast for two and a free bottle of bubbly and to everyone’s surprise (NOT) Tracey Howard won the auction and let’s hope both Paul & Tracey have a great evening out.
Well done to all the APM Group generous patronage for the afternoon.
On Saturday 17th December we had people give up their time to volunteer to complete landscaping for the Bolton Clarke display suites in Bundoora. Bolton Clarke have generously donated directly to the Jaxon's Journey Trust fund.
This wouldn’t have been possible without APM Group Directors- Matt Dole, Marcus Worn, Paul Howard and Matt Gilmour, TC Hire, Dave Spasovski (SDS Plumbing), Rick, Kay, James, Hobbsy, Onions, Tom Skinner, Chris Marony, Foss, Tommy Volwerk, Sophie Dole, Georgie Dole, Matt, Jason, Rod and Rose McInnes.
What a great day seeing everyone come together for such a great cause. Still amazes us and warms our heart seeing everyone get behind Jaxon. Honestly the best feeling.
We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. We hope you can enjoy some quality time with friends and family.
Thank you all so much for everything you have done for our little warrior. It takes a village to raise a child and even more so a child with complex medical and developmental needs. You are all part of our village, and we are thankful every day for everyone’s ongoing love and support.
Be safe, See you all in 2023
Lauren and Matt
