Jaxon's Journey Bulletin No. 16

Hi All,

On the 15th of October we took part in the Nike Marathon. This is always a special day for us, seeing you all get behind Jaxon is always very special.

This year Jaxon raised funds to go towards Epilepsy Action Australia, something very close to our hearts. As the leading and oldest provider of epilepsy services nationwide, they focus on improving self-management skills, increasing wider public understanding of this devastating condition, and are at the forefront of partnering and funding research into interventions and treatments.Thank you to those who donated.

Jaxon celebrated his 6th Birthday on 29th October. This was celebrated with close family at his favourite place, the Diamond Valley Miniature Trains.

Jaxon has a big year ahead of him, he will start Prep at a specialist school in 2024.

We are excited for him and of course very nervous. We know this will be so good for his development and we are excited to see him enjoy this next chapter.

Jaxon proudly graduated from Kinder, we cannot thank all educators at Genius Childcare enough for nurturing our boy and making his time at Kinder so enjoyable and most importantly inclusive.

Jaxon was admitted to hospital for an MRI of the brain. In true Jaxon style he handled this procedure so well, he is so brave.

Unfortunately, we have not received any updates regarding treatment moving forward.

The neurology team are going to take Jaxon’s scans to a conference with a board of specialists. They will all view Jaxon’s case and discuss what the next step might be.

This may be a new trial of medication or surgical intervention.

We hope every day that something will help relieve the seizures that spark every two minutes during sleep. Our main goal is to improve Jaxon’s quality of life. Sadly, we see him suffer daily from exhaustion and frustration.

He amazes us that he is still able to laugh every single day and he has taught us to enjoy the little moments in life.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.

Thank you for all your ongoing support and love for our boy.

Enjoy the Christmas break and we will see you all in 2024!
